OCD and Anxiety PHP/IOP
For some kids and adults, working through your challenges with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety disorders can be resolved with specialized partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient care (IOP) treatment without too much disruption in your life. For others, this less intensive level of treatment may be just what you need after treatment in a residential or inpatient care setting.
PHP/IOP offers two levels of treatment for OCD & anxiety:
-
Partial hospitalization care
(6 to 7 hours a day/4 to 5 days a week) - Intensive outpatient care
(3 hours a day/5 days a week)
Patients, families, and treatment teams work together to determine length of programs based on individual progress and situations.
Our therapeutic approach
In these settings, we focus on the same evidence-based therapies used in all our OCD programming:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Exposure and response prevention (ERP)
- Medication management
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Experiential therapy
After an initial assessment, our multidisciplinary team led by specialists in OCD and anxiety care work with patients individually to develop an exposure hierarchy and goals to guide them in progressing through their therapy. Our primary goal is to help people learn strategies to reduce symptoms and support themselves for the rest of their life—all while being able to participate in family, school, or work activities.
