Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

TMS now available in West Allis, Wisconsin

When traditional therapy and medication aren’t enough, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) may be your solution for fighting depression and obsessive compulsive disorder* (OCD). Offered for adults ages 18 and over, TMS is offered at our West Allis, Wisconsin location as an outpatient treatment. *OCD coverage may be limited. Please check with your insurance provider.

A safe, scientifically supported option

TMS is a FDA-approved, non-invasive procedure for adults used to treat major depressive disorder and OCD when other more traditional methods of treatment have not been successful or have not provided adequate symptom relief.

During treatment, you sit in a specially designed chair and targeted magnetic pulses are used to stimulate the brain increasing blood flow to areas thought to be most impacted by treatment resistant symptoms. Just sit back, read, listen to music, or simply relax.

Your therapy will be delivered by a trained TMS technician, who will keep you informed throughout each session. A typical treatment plan involves sessions that take under 20 minutes, five days a week for four to six weeks, totaling to about 30 sessions. The number of sessions is dependent on response to treatment and other factors.

Research has shown that approximately 1 in 2 patients will experience a significant reduction in depressive symptoms after using TMS, and 1 in 3 individuals will reach complete remission from major depressive disorder (MDD).
