“I have had OCD and anxiety for as long as I can remember.
In mid-2020 during the pandemic, my OCD became very severe, and my obsessive fears got so bad I had to be hospitalized twice. These awful emotions and thoughts continued for months, and my parents and I were desperate to find help.
My mom came across Rogers, and in January 2021, I was admitted to their OCD, Anxiety, and Depression adolescent residential program. My journey to recovery had begun!”
Exposure and response prevention
“Any time I think about my time at Rogers, I smile remembering the incredible difference they made in my life, and the many memories I made throughout my stay. We did so many fun things, like sledding on the big hill on campus, tending to plants in the greenhouse, and taking group trips to places like the park, Target, and Starbucks! One of the greatest memories I have from Rogers is taking nature walks.
I worked with my behavioral specialist and therapist who provided me with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy or DBT (which I love!) and the golden standard treatment for OCD treatment, exposure and response prevention (ERP).
With the proper treatment, my OCD began to improve, and I finally started to feel like myself again. Every time someone asks me, "Where is your happy place?' I always instantly think of the beautiful nature that surrounds the Rogers campus.
Between clinical and experiential therapy, Rogers gave me my life back, and I am incredibly grateful. I truly do not know where I would be if it had not been for them. They are genuine, caring, and determined to give their patients their lives back. I am so proud to say I am a former Rogers patient.”
