Rogers' Dr. Peggy Scallon discusses adolescent depression: The role of medication in treatment?
When teens are struggling with depression or other mood disorders, experts at Rogers Behavioral Health say medication combined with treatment is most effective. “As a child psychiatrist, I meet with every child who comes in and their families to get a history of the medications they’ve taken and together, we form a plan,” says Peggy Scallon, MD, psychiatrist, medical director, Focus Depression Recovery Adolescent Residential Care. “It’s very individualized.”
