Rogers Behavioral Health to break ground on new Brown Deer residential care center this summer

BROWN DEER, WI (April 12, 2021) —  Rogers Behavioral Health will break ground this summer on a new residential care center in Brown Deer scheduled to open next year. This is the first time residential treatment will be offered in Brown Deer, where inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction care are currently provided. Along with Oconomowoc and West Allis, Brown Deer will be the third Rogers location to serve residential patients.

Scheduled to open by summer 2022, the 24,000-square-foot building will be connected to the one-story inpatient care facility located at 4600 W. Schroeder Drive. The two-story addition will accommodate 32 beds with separate space for adults and adolescents. Patients will receive specialized treatment services for depression, trauma, bipolar and other mood disorders, and co-occurring anxiety, personality, and substance use disorders.

“Rogers is pleased to expand residential treatment into Brown Deer in order to meet the high demand for longer-term psychiatric care,” said Derrick Jordan, vice president of operations in Brown Deer. “In many cases, short-term inpatient services do not provide enough time for a person to recover from complex behavioral health conditions. Residential care is an appropriate transition for many patients from inpatient to lower levels of care with outpatient service options.”

In residential care, patients reside and receive treatment on campus, where they can have more time and resources to begin the recovery process from traumatic events and complicated life circumstances. Patients stay in a comfortable, home-like setting with a dining area, group rooms, semi-private bedrooms, recreation space, and activity rooms.

The new facility will be built by Moore Construction in Menomonee Falls. Milwaukee-based Quorum Architects and Brookfield-based Trio Engineering are also affiliated with the project.

In addition to the residential expansion into Brown Deer, Rogers is growing across the state and country. This summer, an outpatient clinic and supportive living facility in Sheboygan will open, as will the Ladish Co. Foundation Center in Oconomowoc. Rogers is also planning to open new outpatient centers in Phoenix by spring 2022 and in Denver by early summer 2022.
