(OCONOMOWOC, WIS)— Rogers Behavioral Health announced plans to open the new Ladish Co. Foundation Center on its Oconomowoc campus to be used by families and others supporting patients as well as community members. The center will be located at 34700 Valley Road and was made possible by a $2 million donation from the Ladish Co. Foundation as well as a collaborative partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin (RMHC).

Expected to open in summer 2021, the Ladish Center will include an array of hospitality and spiritual care services, as well as the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation and the Rogers Research Center.

“This is an incredible step in Rogers’ history of providing highly effective mental health and addiction treatment for those who are struggling, the people that love them, and the communities we live in,” says Pat Hammer, Rogers president and CEO. “We will be forever grateful to the Ladish Co. Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin for their support and partnership in ensuring these resources are available when needed most.”

“It takes courage and strength for our patients and families to seek treatment for mental illness and addiction,” says Hammer. “Along with our valued partners, we are humbled to support them every step of the way.”

“Rogers Behavioral Health is comprised of dedicated and skilled individuals making critical positive contributions within our community,” said Wayne Larsen, a retired company executive and longstanding Ladish Co. Foundation trustee. “What they do on a daily basis for people seeking mental health and addiction services is truly important. We are deeply honored to provide our support in filling a need for such an impressive organization.”

The Ladish Center will provide a central hub for patients and families to participate in educational and supportive programs. Rogers offers support groups, presentations on mental health, and training for behavioral health professionals and community members, and this center will house all of those programs.

Ronald McDonald Family Room

For over a decade, RMHC has been serving families whose child is being treated at Rogers. Establishing a Family Room Program within the Ladish Center will allow both families residing at the RMHC as well as other Rogers’ families to benefit from this supportive, comforting environment that is just footsteps away from where their child is receiving treatment. This RMHC Family Room Program will be one of the first Family Room Programs located within a behavioral health facility.

“Having family members nearby while supporting a patient receiving treatment has proven to have a positive impact on their recovery,” says Ann Petrie, President and CEO of RMHC® Eastern Wisconsin. “We are proud to partner with Rogers to deliver family-centered, compassionate care to those facing mental health challenges.”

The Family Room will serve as a safe, comfortable place to take a break from the stress of the hospital environment where family members can relax, prepare a meal or have a snack, or even take a nap. This valuable service enables families to experience restorative time for themselves without having to step too far away from their child while in treatment. RMHC Eastern WI will continue to welcome and provide overnight accommodations for Rogers families who are eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa.
