Martin E. Franklin, PhD, is executive clinical director of OCD and Anxiety Services at Rogers Behavioral Health, where he has oversight of OCD and Anxiety programs system-wide.
Dr. Franklin is a nationally renowned expert in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), OC-spectrum disorders, and body-focused repetitive behaviors, as well as the study and treatment of anxiety and related conditions. Additionally, he is associate professor emeritus of clinical psychology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he has been honored for teaching excellence.
Dr. Franklin has authored over 260 research and clinical publications in the areas of efficacy, effectiveness, and dissemination of CBT for OCD and related conditions across the developmental spectrum; treatment outcome in patient subgroups, such as those with severe comorbid depression, concomitant tics, poor insight into the senselessness of OCD symptoms, and in young children; CBT for trichotillomania and Tourette Syndrome; and clinical trials methodology and the delivery of CBT, both in and outside the context of randomized controlled trials. He has won multiple awards for the high quality of his teaching and has lectured both nationally and internationally about OCD and related topics. He was the lead author on a pediatric OCD treatment manual published by Guilford Press (Franklin, Freeman, & March, 2019) and a research paper in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Open Form (Franklin et al., 2024) that demonstrated the effectiveness of telehealth for pediatric OCD.
