Khazi A. Muqeet, MD, MRCPsych

Associate Chief Medical Officer, Psychiatrist

Khazi A. Muqeet, MD, is a board-certified in adult psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and addiction medicine. He specializes in the treatment of major mental illnesses and addiction. In his role as associate chief medical officer for Rogers Behavioral Health, he is responsible for leading the medical staff to provide evidence based and high-quality clinical care. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the system.

Dr. Muqeet joined Rogers in 2010, and has held numerous roles, most recently as the senior medical director overseeing all medical services at our West Allis hospital campus and as the medical director of the Herrington Center for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery.

Dr. Muqeet has trained extensively in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in the United States, Great Britain and India. He completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he also completed his psychiatry residency and served as chief resident. He completed an additional residency in psychiatry in the North Wales Psychiatry residency program where he also served as chief resident and received his certification of Member of Royal College of Psychiatrists. In addition to serving in leadership positions during his training, Dr. Muqeet was the recipient of several awards and recognition for his academic excellence.

Dr. Muqeet has presented to numerous clinical and academic audiences internationally. He has a research interest in addiction treatment and modifying the clinical care based on clinical outcomes data. He has previously participated in research looking at the applicability of genetic testing in psychiatric disorders. Dr. Muqeet is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Medical Association, Wisconsin Psychiatric Association and the Royal College of Psychiatrists (London, UK). He has served as chair, chair-elect and AMA delegate of the young physicians section of the Wisconsin Medical Society.
