Anthony Dobner, MD

Psychiatrist

Anthony Dobner, MD, is a licensed psychiatrist at Rogers in Oconomowoc where he works with children, teens, and adults receiving inpatient care, in addition to children and teens receiving outpatient treatment for eating disorders. Dr. Dobner has been working full-time at Rogers since 2019.

Dr. Dobner’s primary area of interest is working with families of teenagers who are dealing with OCD, social anxiety, specific phobias, mood disorders, eating disorders, and are living with autism and other developmental disabilities. He follows up-to-date evidence-based guidelines for prescribing psychiatric medications and appreciates that for most patients with the most significant psychiatric symptoms, a treatment approach which combines thoughtful medication adjustment with intensive cognitive behavioral therapy will be the most successful. Dr Dobner believes that when working with teenagers, it’s critical to think about the patient as being a part of a complex and interconnected family and community system.

Dr. Dobner graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with his Bachelor of Science in biology with a biomolecular emphasis. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Dobner completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he also completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. During his fellowship, Dr. Dobner worked with licensed family and marital therapy counselors to provide structural family therapy and emotionally-focused relationship therapy. He likes to bring this perspective to teams he works with at Rogers.

Dr. Dobner is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, Wisconsin Medical Society, and Wisconsin Psychiatry Association.
