Rising Above Stigma | Jordan's story

Jordan says it was after going through some traumatic experiences that she felt like she was losing control. She began to focus on what she could control, which was eating and exercise. Jordan says she was diagnosed with an eating disorder during a visit with a primary care doctor. After a hospital stay where she says she was on death's door, Jordan realized she needed to accept additional help.

Jordan says realizing she was not alone in her struggle was eye opening for her, so she's made it her mission to help others.

"There is so much stigma around mental illness," Jordan says. "I want to hare my story because there are people who don't know there are others who are also struggling. You're not alone."
