Trends in depression and teens

 

The rates of depression and anxiety are rapidly increasing in teens.

“There’s no doubt social media and increased screen use is to blame,” says Peggy Scallon, MD, DFAPA, DFAACAP, psychiatrist, medical director, Focus Depression Recovery Adolescent Residential Care at Rogers Behavioral Health. “Kids are very sensitive to trends in the culture.”
