OCONOMOWOC, WIS. (Aug. 3, 2021) — Rogers Behavioral Health will open the Ladish Co. Foundation Center on its Oconomowoc campus on Monday, August 16. A restorative, stigma-free gathering place for patient families and community members, the Ladish Center is made possible by a $2 million donation from the Ladish Co. Foundation and a collaborative partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin (RMHC).
Located at 34700 Valley Road, the Ladish Center will be home to a Ronald McDonald Family Room, the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation, and the Rogers Research Center. It will also feature an array of hospitality and spiritual care services, including the Tadross Family Chapel and meditation garden, in addition to a Great Hall, board room, and community rooms for support groups, alumni events, Parent University, and other special events for Rogers staff, families, and friends.
“The driving force behind the Ladish Center is to provide more care to family members and more support to community members and our alumni,” said Pat Hammer, Rogers president and CEO. “Thanks to the support from the Ladish Co. Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin, we are proud to provide a safe place for families and friends of our patients to learn more about mental illness and addiction and how to participate in their recovery process.”
“I’d like to thank our donors for bringing this building to life,” said Matthias Schueth, executive vice president, Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation. “The services offered here are a culmination of the hopes and dreams of many former patient families, passionate community members, and philanthropic organizations. We are grateful for their vision in creating a one-of-its-kind environment that will foster connections, encourage learning, and pioneer advancements in mental health treatment.”
Ronald McDonald Family Room
For more than a decade, RMHC® Eastern WI has been serving families whose children are treated at Rogers. The Family Room Program within the Ladish Center will allow both families residing at RMHC as well as other Rogers families to benefit from a supportive, comforting environment that is just footsteps away from where their child is receiving treatment. The RMHC Family Room will be one of the first Family Room Programs located within a behavioral health facility.
“Having family members nearby while supporting a patient receiving treatment has proven to have a positive impact on their recovery,” says Ann Petrie, president and CEO of RMHC® Eastern Wisconsin. “We are proud to partner with Rogers to deliver family-centered, compassionate care to those facing mental health challenges.”
The Family Room will serve as a welcoming, home-like space where patients and families visiting a loved one can take a break from the clinical environment of the hospital to relax, have a snack, or even take a nap. This valuable service enables families to experience restorative time for themselves without having to step too far away from their child while in treatment. RMHC will continue to welcome and provide overnight accommodations for Rogers families who are eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa.
Rogers Research Center
The Ladish Center will also be home to the Rogers Research Center, which will build on more than a century of experience in evidence-based clinical practice. Rogers has been collecting data on patient outcomes for more than 20 years, and, under the leadership of Kelly Piacsek, PhD, Rogers is expanding research to include innovative, prospective studies aimed at accelerating our learning and delivering measurable improvements to mental health treatment practices.
The Research Center currently supports more than 50 active studies, and will open three new laboratories in the Ladish Center this year.
