Rogers Behavioral Health breaks ground on new clinic and supportive living in Sheboygan
(SHEBOYGAN, WIS, AUGUST 27)—Rogers Behavioral Health officially broke ground on its new treatment location at 1108 S. Wildwood Ave. in Sheboygan on Thursday, August 27.
“The ground that we’re standing on is going to be transformed into hope and healing for people with mental illness and addiction,” said Pat Hammer, president and CEO of Rogers Behavioral Health. “The city and county administration have welcomed us with open arms. I am very thankful and am looking forward to being an integral part of the Sheboygan community.”
Expected to open in early 2021 Rogers’ Sheboygan location will serve adolescents and adults in the Sheboygan area.
“This will be a really unique offering for the City of Sheboygan,” said Sheboygan Mayor Mike Vandersteen. “Most of the people here have had to travel out of town to get good treatment. This is a great attribute for our area, because the people that need Rogers’ services can now get them right here in their own hometown. That means their family and support people will be closer to them and give them a greater chance of success.”
The Sheboygan location will include a 10,000 square foot outpatient clinic to treat OCD, anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, and co-occurring substance use in adults and adolescents ages 12 to 17. The clinic will have the ability to serve up to 12 adolescents and 28 adults at a time.
A separate space adjacent to the clinic will house Rogers’ first-ever supportive living services for up to 12 adult patients at a time. The living space will provide patients a place to call home during treatment as they prepare to transition back into everyday life.
This environment supports recovery through shared experience and builds strength and hope with treatment teams who are available for coaching and mentoring. The space will feature a common living room, dining room, kitchen, and shared bedrooms with kitchenettes and bathrooms.
