Every May since the mid-1900s, Mental Health Month has served as a time to help spread awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health and addiction. Mental Health America has chosen “Back to Basics” as this year’s theme. In this spirit, we’ve put together information to help you understand common mental health conditions, where to find resources, and how to find treatment.

Rogers has been a leader in the mental health and addiction field, collecting patient assessments for more than two decades. Scientists at the Rogers Research Center are using that data to help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of mental health practices.

As a child, Stephanie, recalls that talking about mental health was discouraged. Then when she began to struggle with her own mental health and sought treatment at Rogers, she realized how deeply that stigma was embedded in her.

The supportive living space in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, can house 12 people who are currently receiving mental health or addiction treatment in an intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization program. It will allow people to focus on their recovery journey and practice self-care such as hygiene, life, or vocational skills to help them transition into the next stage of their recovery.

Oftentimes assumed to be big city issues, a recent report is shedding light on the impact of mental health and addiction in rural communities.
