Treatment for Adults 55+
Everyone’s mental health needs differ depending on their personal experiences and beliefs. You may feel more or less comfortable talking about your mental health based on what you were taught or your life experiences. Rogers recognizes that for those 55 or older, treatment often works best when it addresses common, age-appropriate stressors like loss and grief, caregiving, retirement, major life changes, and health issues impacting mood.
Compassionate care created especially for you
At Rogers, effective inpatient and partial hospitalization care (PHP), and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) for those 55 and older mean meeting you where you are. It also means offering compassionate support through proven therapies, medication as needed, family and peer involvement, program support groups, and practical coping skills to foster resilience.
What to expect in the Lifewell program
- Inpatient care provides short-term stabilization for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms requiring 24-hour supervision and treatment
- PHP and IOP levels of care are offered for individuals who do not require 24-hour supervision or stabilization
- Program designed for people who remain functionally independent in their daily living, and are able to participate in treatment planning
- Treatment components and schedules thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of those 55 and older
- Care that takes place with peers within a similar life stage
- Age-specific group topics tailored to your individual needs including foundations for healthy living, exploring purpose, values, and joy, understanding grief and loss, strengthening connection, and navigating technology with confidence
What it isn’t
- Lifewell is not designed to serve as a nursing facility, memory care unit, or long-term custodial placement
