Share Your Rogers Experience
Patients who have completed treatment at Rogers often want to explore ways to get involved in advocacy, anti-stigma activities, or share their stories in a way that may help others. Submit your information below, and a member of the Rogers team will reach out to you to discuss how you want to get involved.
Please know that your personal information will not be shared without your consent. If you decide to participate in an event or activity that involves more than simply sharing your story below, you will be asked to sign additional disclosure forms. Rogers’ policy is to provide guidance and other safeguards to ensure that your participation is beneficial to your recovery, potential patients, and the community at large. See the strategic decision-making section below. Please note, participants must be age 18 or older. To respect the recovery process, Rogers will not distribute patient-shared content until the individual has been out of treatment for at least six (6) months.
At any point, you can request that your story, information, and/or content be removed from our website, social media, or other Rogers’ channels by notifying Rogers via email at Media@rogersbh.org or send a letter to Marketing Department at Rogers Behavioral Health, 34700 Valley Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
Making a strategic decision: should I talk about my mental illness and recovery?
Talking about your mental illness should, first and foremost, support your healing and recovery. While many reach a point in their recovery when they have a strong desire to share what they have learned, it is always important to consider the impact of sharing your story. For some, the benefits outweigh the potential consequences, and they decide to share their mental health challenges with their family, their friends, at their workplace and/or other settings. Some choose to participate in opportunities to tell their story publicly to further the mission of reducing stigma. Please feel free to utilize this tool to assess your readiness to share your story: A workbook to help you make disclosure decisions can be found here.
