Supporting Families Through Art: The Family Room’s Collaborative Loom at Rogers Behavioral Health

The Friendly Loom is a one-of-a-kind collaborative art piece located in the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Rogers’ Oconomowoc campus. Ribbons with messages of encouragement, hope, and healing are woven by patients and family members, growing over time into a beautiful work of art.

It’s a reminder that they’re not alone, and that many people have gone through what they’re experiencing and successfully emerged on the other side.

“Each ribbon represents a different family we’ve served,” says Andrew Finch, Ronald McDonald Family Room Manager. “Even if they don’t see the finished piece, they were still part of something bigger. It’s a wonderful representation of what the loom becomes when everything comes together.”

Through every ribbon that’s woven, The Friendly Loom is a connection and a source of healing, reminding families that even in the most difficult moments, hope continues to grow.
