In this video, Heather Jones, PhD, Vice President of Clinical Services at Rogers Behavioral Health, suggests ways to keep our routines and minimize stress. “One tip to manage stress during the holidays is to set reasonable expectations about what you and your loved ones are going to participate in, and not participate in. It’s setting those limits.”
Dr. Jones also recommends going to bed on time, waking up when you usually would, and eating nutritiously, even with all the holiday treats around. Keeping your routines steady and your expectations reasonable will help make the holidays less stressful. And don’t forget to give yourself some grace.
