WORTH IT for Her: Trauma, Motherhood & Addiction Recovery – Episode 2

Rise Above podcast

In this episode of Rise Above, a podcast from Rogers Behavioral Health, we continue our powerful conversation about women, substance use recovery, and the realities of healing.

Page Feller from Rogers Behavioral Health sits down with Christina and Elizabeth, two women in recovery who share their lived experiences with addiction, motherhood, shame, faith, and healing. In this second part of their conversation, Christina opens up about how a search for control during an abusive relationship and a traumatic childbirth experience contributed to her substance use, and what it has taken to rebuild her life in recovery. Together, Christina and Elizabeth reflect on the lasting impact of shame, guilt, trauma, mental health challenges, and the ongoing work of healing.

This episode continues the conversation around WORTH IT For Her, a Rogers Behavioral Health program designed specifically for women in substance use treatment. WORTH IT For Her recognizes that women often enter treatment carrying layers of responsibility, trauma, perfectionism, motherhood, relationships, and societal expectations, and that recovery must address more than substance use alone. The program creates space for women to explore mental health, identity, relationships, caregiving, and lived experiences in a supportive, compassionate environment.
