Jenny’s struggle with substance use began early in her life.
“I needed something to quiet my history of trauma,” Jenny says. “My addiction and my trauma are so intertwined.”
Jenny first went to treatment at Rogers in 2011 and felt that she wasn’t ready for it. Months later as her health further declined and she experienced a night in jail after an arrest, she says she reached her rock bottom.
“I didn’t want my life to look like that anymore.” Jenny returned to Rogers a 2nd time and became fully connected with her recovery journey. “I was so grateful that I got another opportunity. I embraced every aspect of the program.”
Jenny is now a therapist specializing in trauma and dissociation and a substance use counselor. She credits her sobriety with the life she has now.
