Narissa R. Etwaroo, MD, FAPA

Psychiatrist

Narissa R. Etwaroo, MD, is a board-certified Adult and Addiction Psychiatrist who provides treatment for patients dealing with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders as well as general adult psychiatric concerns in the intensive outpatient and partial hospital levels of care at Rogers Behavioral Health in Tampa.

Dr. Etwaroo graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical studies. She then earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua, graduating cum laude. She served as chief resident for two years while completing her Psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University. Throughout residency she was a consistent four year recipient for the Outstanding Scholars Award reflecting her involvement at the APA conference. Dr. Etwaroo subsequently completed fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry from the University of South Florida.

Dr. Etwaroo continues to hold gratis assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at LSU Shreveport where she provides mentoring and supervision for psychiatry residents. She serves as the co-director of social media council for the APA Women’s Caucus and is a member of the Florida Psychiatric Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the American Medical Association, and American Psychiatric Association (APA). Additionally, she is a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
