Hemalatha Rajanna, MD
Chief Medical Officer – Brown Deer Campus, Psychiatrist
Hemalatha Rajanna, MD, is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who serves as the chief medical officer of Rogers Behavioral Health in Brown Deer, where she provides leadership and supervisory support to the medical staff.
In her previous leadership role, Dr. Rajanna oversaw clinical teams serving patients in Oconomowoc as associate medical director and medical director of Adult Inpatient Care. Prior to that, she was medical director of Adult Inpatient Care and medical director of Focus Depression Recovery adult residential care, after serving as medical director of partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs at Rogers’ West Allis campus.
Dr. Rajanna is experienced in treating adults with acute mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and trauma. She has a particular interest in women's mental health across the lifespan including PMDD, pregnancy, and postpartum depression.
A graduate of the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences in India, Dr. Rajanna completed her residency in psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee. Before joining Rogers, she was a staff psychiatrist in the Women's Treatment Unit at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division. She also served as a forensic medical examiner and helped teach medical students and paramedical professionals.
Dr. Rajanna is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association. She has delivered many professional presentations in the United States and the United Kingdom on a variety of topics, including one on stigma and mental health education for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
