‘Your work exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate and dedicated nurse’: Rogers announces second DAISY Award winner of 2025

With a remarkable seven nominations recommending her, Breanna Gilmore was recognized with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. A registered nurse for the Mental Health Recovery inpatient program at Rogers in Oconomowoc, Breanna was honored at a September ceremony. “This nurse has been one of the most amazing nurses I have ever encountered at a Rogers facility,” said one of her nominees. “She is so kind and compassionate towards everything and everyone. She truly embodies what I would consider a magnificently excellent nurse. I love working with her and although I will miss her greatly, I hope to not have to come back anytime soon. She has helped me get to this point. I will never forget her lasting impact on me.” This marks the eighth time Rogers has given a DAISY award to a deserving nurse. The international recognition program celebrates skillful, compassionate care by nurses who demonstrate acts of kindness and sensitivity, as well as exemplifying empathy and integrity.

Recognizing our honorees

During this most recent period, 44 nurses received nominations, including our second and third-place honorees. The second-place recognition was given to Jamie Lemke, registered nurse, Mental Health Recovery, adult outpatient care, Silver Lake. Two individuals were recognized in third place: Viktoria Droegkamp, clinical nurse coordinator, Mental Health Recovery, adolescent care, Brown Deer; and Hallie Hartmann, registered nurse, residential care, West Allis.

Nominate a nurse for a future DAISY award

Rogers is among more than 5,000 healthcare organizations and schools of nursing worldwide committed to honoring exemplary nurses through the DAISY Award program. Nurses are nominated by anyone who experiences or observes extraordinary, compassionate care: current and former patients, family members, fellow nurses, physicians, clinicians, and other employees. Winners are selected throughout the year by an internal committee from various disciplines at Rogers. Employee names, locations, and programs are removed from the nomination. The committee is asked to vote for their top five nominees, and a re-vote is taken, if necessary, to narrow down the top three. The next round of nominations is open now! Nominations, including a detailed account of why the nurse is deserving of the honor, may be submitted at by clicking here.
