Samuel Cares, PhD

Samuel Cares, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical supervisor at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc, where he works with adult patients in the Eating Disorder Recovery Adult Residential Center. His clinical interests focus primarily on anxiety, eating, OCD, and trauma-related disorders.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Ripon College with a double major in psychology and religion, he earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Cares received his graduate and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University. He completed his American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral internship program at Rogers, working with adults in the OCD and Anxiety Adult Residential Center.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr Cares is involved with research as a principal investigator and co-investigator. He also serves as a member of Rogers Behavioral Health’s emotional debrief team, clinical psychology doctoral internship training committee, and the APA continuing education sponsor approval committee.

Dr. Cares is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
