Paula R. Young, PhD
Executive Director of Clinical Training and Development, Psychologist
Paula R. Young, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and executive director of clinical training and development. She oversees the development of formalized training content and processes for clinical interventions and strategies within the Rogers System.
Dr. Young joined Rogers Behavioral Health in 2016 and has served as clinical supervisor, clinical director of Chicagoland programs, and Regional Senior Clinical Director-Central Region, where she supervised and trained staff working in the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care at eight locations.
Dr. Young has been involved in several NIH-funded treatment studies using Cognitive Behavioral therapy to treat major depressive disorder and anxiety disorders and has presented to numerous clinical and academic audiences across the country. Prior to joining Rogers, Dr. Young was faculty at Northwestern University where she taught courses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Clinical Psychology and Counseling programs for over 15 years. She is a diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, and a Fellow of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy.
Dr. Young earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Texas-Austin. She then earned her MS and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences. Dr. Young completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania- Easter Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and post-doctoral work at the University of Pennsylvania Department of Psychiatry Depression Research Unit.
