Rogers Behavioral Health set to expand access to mental health services in Chippewa Valley

Gov. Evers signs bill granting $10 million in state funding for Rogers campus

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. – Rogers Behavioral Health is proceeding with plans for a new behavioral health hospital in Chippewa Falls. This investment marks a major step forward in expanding access to critical mental health and substance use treatment services in the Chippewa Valley, including Chippewa, Eau Claire, and Dunn counties.

Rogers’ new hospital will meet a growing need for high-quality mental health care in the northwestern Wisconsin region. Communities in this area have faced limited options for specialized, evidence-based treatment, creating barriers for individuals and families seeking timely support. By increasing access to our proven care models, strong clinical outcomes, and individualized person-centered care, this expansion will deliver meaningful benefits to the region. More people will be able to receive the right level of care closer to home, strengthening overall community well-being and helping residents live healthier, more hopeful lives.

“We are deeply grateful to Gov. Evers, Sen. Jesse James, Rep. Clint Moses, and all our partners who helped make this possible. From community leaders and lawmakers to healthcare professionals and advocates, each person has played a role in moving this vision forward,” says Cindy Meyer, Rogers’ president and CEO. “This project has truly been a collaborative effort, reflecting what can happen when a community rallies together around a shared goal. In making much-needed treatment more accessible, Rogers’ new hospital campus will bring hope and healing to individuals and families who have long faced barriers to care.”

The project has been led by a commitment to community engagement. To date, Rogers has met with local leaders, law enforcement, schools, and health organizations at more than 20 community meetings and hearings in 2025.

“It is hard to express just how much the passage of this bill means for the Chippewa Valley and western Wisconsin,” says Sen. Jesse James, who represents Wisconsin’s 23rd Senate District. “Our region desperately needs this construction of a new mental health facility. I promised my constituents when local hospitals closed that I would help as much as I could – this is a project I delivered on for you all. I am extremely grateful for all the support we have received; from my fellow legislators, from Rogers, and from the community.”

“Act 75 provides essential mental health services for us in Western Wisconsin,” says Rep. Clint Moses, who represents Wisconsin’s 92nd Assembly District. “Thank you to Rogers Behavioral Health for stepping up to establish a mental health care facility in Chippewa Falls. I look forward to seeing the meaningful impact it will have on individuals and families.”

The new facility will be located on an 18-acre wooded site in Chippewa Falls, designed to offer a full continuum of evidence-based care for children, teens, and adults. With space for inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and traditional outpatient care, the campus is designed to grow with the needs of the Chippewa Valley. Inspired by Rogers’ Oconomowoc campus, the site will feature walking paths and reflection areas to promote a naturalistic healing environment.

Construction will be led by Wisconsin-based Miron Construction, which is committed to prioritizing local subcontractor participation and boosting economic investment in the region.

Rogers Behavioral Health has been a trusted not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and substance use services since 1907. This expansion reflects Rogers’ ongoing commitment to community collaboration and well-being. Rogers will continue to engage with local stakeholders throughout the development process.
