FCCLA and WISE Partnership

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) in Wisconsin recently partnered with our Community Learning & Engagement/WISE team to help promote wellness and mental health awareness through various activities and initiatives.

Alison Wolf, Operations and Development manager, and Brittney Fair, training lead, shared resources at the FCCLA state leadership conference in April. Brittney held two breakout sessions for attendees, while both Alison and Brittney had an informational table and spoke with many students, advisors, and educators about Rogers and WISE.

Spreading Cheer in Brown Deer

Team members from the Community Learning & Engagement/WISE and Purchasing teams handed out treats to the clinic staff in Brown Deer to spread some smiles and show their appreciation. They also worked together to pick up garbage around the clinic and sweep in front of the clinic doors.

Strike Out the Stigma

Strike Out the Stigma is the Philadelphia Phillies mental health awareness initiative focused on bringing important conversations to the forefront about the value of healthy life habits, supporting those around us, and removing the negative connotation surrounding mental health.

The program is hosted monthly by the Phillies and, in conjunction with Minding Your Mind, a panel of speakers focuses on a different topic for each event. Kelli Cochran, Community Relations Liaison, Philadelphia, attended both the April and May events.

Pennsylvania NAMI walk

Rogers was proud to be part of the NAMI walk in Mongomery County, Pennsylvania on May 17, offering a table of resources.

Kelli Cochran, Philadelphia Community Relations liaison, said she had the opportunity to speak with families and their loved ones about their mental health journeys.

“Community support is such a vital piece of a person’s mental wellness path, and NAMI certainly offers that and more,” Kelli says. “I feel blessed that I have such an amazing relationship with NAMI Montgomery County’s staff, advocates, and families. This walk is not only a way to shine a light on all that NAMI does but also on the collaboration of my colleagues and the programs we offer to treat and support those living and working in our community.”
