Celebrating five years of care in Atlanta: Voices from day one

Congratulations to our Atlanta clinic on their recent five-year anniversary! The team celebrated this special occasion and recognized six team members who have been with the clinic since it opened. They shared their thoughts on this milestone anniversary and what it means to them to have been a part of the journey from the very beginning.

Taryn Abrams, MD

“As I reflect on my five-year journey at Rogers Atlanta, I am filled with deep gratitude and pride. Each day, I have the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families on their path toward healing, and I remain honored to be a part of their journey.

“Over the past five years, I have learned so much—not only from my remarkable colleagues but also from the patients who have trusted us with their care. Their courage continues to inspire me and strengthen my commitment to this work.

“Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and contributing to a place that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.”

~Taryn Abrams, MD, Psychiatrist

“As the first provider at Rogers Atlanta and the one who had the privilege of opening our clinic doors to the very first patient, this celebration holds deep personal significance for me. I have witnessed our growth firsthand—from welcoming that first patient to now supporting multiple individuals and families on their healing journeys each day.

“Watching the clinic evolve into a trusted resource in our community has been one of the proudest chapters of my professional life.”

“After five years, I’ve cherished so many things about Rogers, but one thing I cherish the most is the ability to connect and be part of such a great team. Great teams aren’t just about getting

the job done, they’re about building trust, sharing purpose, and creating a workplace culture where people feel valued, connected, and inspired to grow together.”

~Shemekia Hall, Behavior Specialist II

“Atlanta was opened during COVID with great leadership. I came off a previous job and was skeptical if the clinic would withstand the influences at that time. Patients were seen virtually, coming in by ones and twos. Then a boom occurred, patients start to come on site, and we climbed as high as 60 patient capacity in August 2022. Atlanta is maintaining very strong, and I am motivated to make myself very productive in my position at Rogers.”

~Yakini Moseley, Registered Nurse II

“I was with Rogers Atlanta from the very beginning—back when there were just three of us working out of a satellite office while the main space was still under construction. I remember walking in and seeing walls and glass literally going up before our eyes. It felt like we were building something special, brick by brick, moment by moment.

“Just as we were preparing to open our doors, the world changed with the onset of COVID. But even in that uncertainty, what stood out was the unwavering dedication, flexibility, and deep commitment to patient care. From day one, it was clear that Rogers Atlanta wasn’t just another treatment center—it was going to be something extraordinary.

Though I’ve since transitioned into a different department and now work remotely, Rogers Atlanta will always feel like home.”

“As one of the original therapists at Rogers Behavioral Health Atlanta, I feel immense pride and gratitude when I look back on the past five years. Being part of this journey from the beginning has allowed me to witness the profound impact of our work and the unwavering commitment of our team.

“While the team faces may have changed, the collective devotion to the mission has remained the same. I remain deeply dedicated to our clients and am inspired by their resilience on their path to healing. I am honored to continue walking alongside the staff that serve our community and am grateful for the hope they provide to so many.”
