(Oconomowoc, WI) With a spring opening of Rogers Behavioral Health in Brown Deer nearing, a recruitment drive has kicked off to hire an initial wave of 100 new staff for the 56-bed hospital offering inpatient behavioral health care for children, adolescents and adults.
Staff will support the 55,000-square-foot one-story facility located at 4600 West Schroeder Drive in Brown Deer. A late April opening date is set for the hospital which will provide inpatient care and stabilization for persons dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction and other mental health disorders. This will be Rogers’ third acute care hospital campus in Wisconsin for the Oconomowoc-based behavioral health system.
Rogers acquired the facility in September 2013 where it had leased space for a smaller operation for almost a decade. The building is currently being transformed into a state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital.
“In addition to the bricks and mortar of renovations underway, this recruitment drive is another reflection of the commitment we have to serve the behavioral health needs of the region surrounding Brown Deer,” said Renee Patterson, vice president of human capital for Rogers Behavioral Health. “We’re excited to be able to offer talented individuals the opportunity to become part of a national leader in behavioral health.”
As a new hospital, Rogers seeks to fill all positions, from psychiatry to environmental services. For its specialized behavioral health services, nurses, psychologists, social workers and therapists are among key positions being targeted. Patterson said Rogers’ recruitment staff are attending career fairs, working with local colleges and universities, networking and using social media and other online employment outlets to assist in the process.
“We are using all channels and means to get the word out to the many qualified applicants we are confident we will be hiring in the next months,” she added.
Recruitment initially began with the opening of a new outpatient treatment facility across the street, with additional staffing for an expansion of partial hospitalization, day treatment and intensive outpatient programming. A core of new services was added in August 2014, with additional services opening in December 2014.
