‘Your work exemplifies what it means to be compassionate, dedicated nurses:’ Two nurses named as DAISY Award winners in September
In September, Rogers honored two first-place winners for the second time this year with the DAISY award, which recognizes nurses who go above and beyond.
A ceremony was held in Oconomowoc, where registered nurses Amanda Simpson and Brody Cornell were named as winners. You can read excerpts from their individual patient nominations below.

Amanda Simpson, registered nurse, OCD and Anxiety adult residential care, Oconomowoc
“Amanda never lost faith in me, even when I had lost faith in myself. Her unwavering belief in my ability to recover became the bridge that helped me begin believing in myself again and gave me hope when I needed it most.
“Through her genuine positivity, Amanda created a safe and encouraging environment where healing felt possible. She helped me see setbacks as part of growth and ultimately changed the way I see myself and my future.”
Brody Cornell, registered nurse, Mental Health Recovery adult inpatient care, Oconomowoc
“When I first arrived at Rogers feeling overwhelmed and anxious, Brody’s calm demeanor and reassuring presence helped me believe everything would be okay. His kindness, patience, and genuine care made a difficult transition feel manageable and helped me feel more comfortable during my stay.
“Brody consistently went above and beyond to support me, always taking the time to listen and ensure my needs were met. His compassion and attentiveness made a lasting impact on my experience and recovery.”
Recognizing our honorees
Several nurses received nominations during this most recent cycle, including our second and third-place honorees. The second-place recognition was given to Andrew Olsen, nurse practitioner, Oconomowoc, while the third-place acknowledgement was given to Amanda Griffin, registered nurse, Nashville.
