Regulatory Compliance team promotes compassion, empathy

The Regulatory Compliance team provides administration and oversight of patient care compliance in many activities, including facility safety tours and the review of HR records and patient charts.
Yet, the most important function is our connection to program leadership and employees in all levels of care. We know and appreciate the hard work you do every day to serve patients in a 24-hour setting.
As we oversee regulatory efforts and help drive policy compliance, our goal is to provide a safe place for all questions or concerns about patient quality and safe care. Our team is committed to serving as a support service and an example of vulnerability, which we believe is rooted in compassion and empathy.
We know it takes an immense amount of compassion and empathy to work with patients and their families. As part of our compliance program, we encourage everyone to practice self-compassion and empathy with others in all our interactions.
For example, as we review incidents and visit sites for quarterly mock surveys, we strive to exhibit vulnerability, empathy, and compassion as the roadmap for our regulatory efforts. We also recently began using mindfulness practices like breathwork and meditation in our weekly team meetings.
The most important thing we can do is take care of our well-being for each other and ourselves. A happy and healthy workforce is the foundation for an ethical and compliant workplace!
