This spring, Rogers launched a new podcast, Rise Above, featuring episodes on a variety of mental health topics.

In the first four episodes, listeners hear from Rogers experts on topics including the connection between personality disorders and mood disorders, religious scrupulosity, and Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, or ARFID. In the latest episode, former patient Steve spoke candidly with Andy Meddaugh, lead digital media producer, about the stigma around men’s mental health.

“To reduce stigma, I think some of it has to be sharing stories, like this. When you hear a story similar to yours when you’re in dark place, that’s like turning on a bunch of lights and giving you hope,” Steve explains. “If you’re open to it, share your story.”

To hear more from Steve and more special guests, don’t forget to subscribe to Rise Above to be notified when new episodes are released. The podcast is available wherever you listen to podcasts, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.

Reminder: Submitting photos and videos for social media is easy!

If your team is planning a fun summer activity, be sure to submit photos for potential use on social media and in Insight. Simply follow these steps to get started:

  1. Take clear, quality photos and/or videos of members of your team during an event, a team-building activity, while volunteering in the community, or anything else that would be interesting to members of the community and Rogers team members. If taking video, please be sure to film in a vertical format, and make sure no patients or patient-identifying materials are visible.
  2. Ask each team member in the photos or videos if they’re comfortable with those items being shared internally and externally.
  3. If everyone agrees, email the original, unedited photos and/or video files, a description, and confirmation that everyone has approved of those items being shared to photos@rogersbh.org.
