First-ever Rogers DAISY Award recipient to be honored in September
08/10/22 10:35:amRogers’ first-ever recipient of The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is scheduled to be announced on September 20, followed by a celebration at the nurse’s location.
Since launching the recognition program in late May, Rogers has received nearly 100 nominations from former patients, nurses, and other employees from across the system.
“We are thrilled to institute The DAISY Award at Rogers to honor and thank our hardworking and compassionate nurses for all they do,” says Terri Cohn, chief nursing officer. “It’s inspiring to read the heartfelt stories people have submitted as part of their nominations, and we are greatly looking forward to our first celebration event next month.”
Rogers is among more than 5,000 healthcare organizations and schools of nursing worldwide that are committed to honoring exemplary nurses through The DAISY Award program.
Nurses are nominated by anyone who experiences or observes extraordinary compassionate care: current and former patients, family members, fellow nurses, physicians, clinicians, and other employees.
Winners will be selected throughout the year by an internal committee at Rogers and celebrated at their respective locations. Their families will be invited to attend along with the nominator and senior leaders. Award recipients will receive a sculpture, a certificate, and a lapel pin. All the nurses who were nominated during that voting period will receive a certificate and lapel pin as well.
Stay tuned for more details on the first recognition event, including the date, time, and location, and please consider joining if you are available.
