Zywave shows heart for mental health with gift to Rogers Foundation
03/28/17 10:47:amAs a part of their “Helping Handz” charitable giving program, Zywave, an insurance broker software company based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, chose Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation as the recipient of their fundraising initiatives for the month of February.
Grace Evans, talent support specialist at Zywave, explains, “We chose to support Rogers, as some members of our team hold the mental health cause close to heart. To us, we see mental illness as a public health crisis that most people either don’t want to understand or want to ignore, despite so many being affected.”
Grace, along with project co-chair Zoe Braun, headed up the initiative. Each month, a different department within the company takes on fundraising for a charitable cause of their choice. The team raised funds by coordinating a Super Bowl pool, Valentine’s Day sale (flowers, balloons, baked-goods), and a company-wide trivia contest. While the final numbers are not yet in, Zywave anticipates proceeds from the three fundraisers to approach $2,000.
“We’ve seen a great response from Zywave employees in support of Rogers and mental health, in general,” says Grace, “Multiple people have approached us individually and thanked us for choosing a cause that is near and dear to them, and because it is frequently overlooked. Our hope was to not only raise donations for Rogers, but also to create awareness for mental health and the fact that there are resources for those in need.”
