Win prizes, get free flu shot at Health and Wellness Fairs
09/19/18 06:24:pmHealth and Wellness fairs are coming to each Rogers location, offering free flu shots and the chance to win prizes.
The Brown Deer fair will be held on September 25-26, West Allis on September 27-28, and Oconomowoc on October 1-5 from 7 am to 4 pm each day. Regional locations will participate in a virtual fair during the last week in September.
It’s important to note that flu shots will only be provided during the fairs this year. Annual flu shots are required for all Rogers employees unless there are approved exceptions. For regional locations, flu shots will be administered by the nursing staff as supplies arrive.
In order to win prizes, attendees have to complete all five stations on the wellness wheel, which includes a flu shot, completing a biometric screening, and learning about the YMCA discount, Daymaker, and Rogers’ benefit information.
Those who complete the station are entered into a drawing, which takes place on October 8, to win prizes such as a Fitbit Charge 2 and various health and wellness-focused items.
The biometric screening measures physical characteristics, such as height, weight, body mass index, blood cholesterol, and blood glucose. Biometric screenings are provided for free, but do require pre-registration. Regional staff interested in the screening can sign up to receive a kit in the mail. For best results, it’s suggested to fast for at least eight hours prior to the screening.
