Mental Health and Addiction Recovery services expanding to Manitowoc

Rogers is planning to bring Mental Health and Addiction Recovery PHP/IOP services to Manitowoc, Wisconsin this fall.

We will start by serving 10 patients in the existing Lighthouse Recovery Community Center, which Rogers is partnering with to bring in-demand treatment options to the area. There will be a separate entrance in the building for those receiving Rogers’ services.

This new clinic will allow Rogers to serve more patients by providing much-needed services in the Manitowoc community, which lacks PHP/IOP options for addiction treatment and has a higher overdose rate than surrounding areas. In the largely rural county, Rogers’ Manitowoc clinic will help overcome barriers patients may face when seeking care, including a lack of options within a drivable distance and long waitlists for treatment.

“Rogers is committed to improving access to mental health and addiction care. We know our Mental Health and Addiction Recovery services help patients get better and can be lifesaving,” says Dr. Michelle Maloney, PhD, LPC, CAADC, CRPS, executive clinical director of MHAR. “We are excited to be a part of the Manitowoc community, bringing our proven services where they’re needed to help more people live more fulfilling lives.”

The Manitowoc location is approximately a half hour drive from our Sheboygan clinic, which will allow the flexibility to share staff and supervision as well as the ability to admit patients at either site if one location is at capacity.

Outpatient counseling launches and prepares to expand

Rogers has started offering limited outpatient counseling, with plans to expand services to more patients in the future.

In early June, a telehealth therapist completed Rogers’ first outpatient counseling appointment.

With a larger scale launch planned for early 2025, virtual services will be more widely available in Wisconsin for adults as well as children and adolescents.

“Building an outpatient counseling program from the ground up has been a rewarding journey. It presented invaluable learning opportunities and required a collaborative effort across multiple departments. While we have more to achieve, this launch signifies significant progress in offering this crucial service to our patients,” says Signa Meyers, vice president of strategic initiatives. “Having both outpatient counseling and outpatient psychiatry now available to Rogers’ patients signifies a new chapter in our history. Let’s take a moment to celebrate this achievement and the exceptional care we continue to provide.”

Silver Lake North clinic celebrates new space, teaching kitchen

Attendees at an open house this week celebrated the new space at Silver Lake North.

Now with more room, all children and adolescents are served in the new expanded Silver Lake North clinic, while all adults are served at the Silver Lake clinic down the street.

Katrina Radi, operations manager, says the expansion gives them much-needed room and will allow us to serve more patients. There will also be more flexibility, both for patients in taking advantage of different course offerings and for staffing because team members will be able to work wherever demand is the highest.

A highlight is a new, state-of-the art teaching kitchen, designed for Silver Lake North patients to use with staff. Those in Eating Disorder Recovery can work with dieticians to cook meals and try new foods, building skills critical to recovery. Other patients will use it as their dining area.

New clinic announced in Wausau: coming fall 2024

Set to open in fall 2024, Rogers will open a new clinic in downtown Wausau at 500 N. 3rd St.

We met with a variety of community organization leaders, who say there is a clear and unmet demand for behavioral health services in the Wausau area, particularly for substance use treatment and outpatient services and for PHP/IOP levels of care.

“We at Rogers listen and respond to communities’ needs, making sure we deliver the mental health services and addiction care that will support the people we serve. Patients are our first priority. Ensuring their voices are heard, along with community support, allows us to bring an integrated response in achieving mental health wellness," says Cindy Meyer, president and CEO. “Our mission is to provide highly effective treatment to help people reach their full potential for health and well-being.”

The Wausau clinic’s offerings will include Mental Health and Addiction Recovery and Primary Behavioral Health PHP/IOP as well Outpatient Psychiatric Services for evaluation and medication management.

“We’re pleased to have enthusiastic support for Rogers expanding in the Wausau market,” says Brian Kay, chief strategy officer. “We want to bring our high-quality, effective care to as many patients as possible. A person’s location should not prevent them from receiving the services they need to live more fulfilling lives. Wausau is an amazing community, and we look forward to being a part of it.”

The new Wausau clinic is made possible in part by donations to Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation. Generous donors include Walter Alexander Foundation, Judd Alexander Foundation, Macdonald Foundation, Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, Dudley Foundation, Robert & Mary Jo Hartwig, and B.A. & Ester Greenheck Foundation.

“The B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation recognizes the critical need for accessible and affordable mental health services,” says Pam Jackson, CEO of the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation. “We are proud to support Rogers Behavioral Health in providing individuals with the resources they need to thrive. Our hope is that this will positively impact our community by removing some of the barriers to mental healthcare.”
