‘New opportunities for healing’: Wausau clinic open house a success, former patient shares gratitude and helps cut ribbon
12/12/24 02:00:pmDedicated staff members, referents, community leaders, and people whose lives have been touched by Rogers made up the about 130 people who attended the Dec. 2 open house celebrating our new Wausau clinic.
“The Wausau clinic represents our dedication to bringing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care closer to those who need it,” says Monica Robertson, vice president of Operations, PHP and IOP services. “By addressing local needs and partnering with the community, we’re creating new opportunities for healing and recovery.”
Wausau Mayor Doug Diny, State Sen. Cory Tomczyk, and State Rep. Patrick Snyder joined the celebration, where Rogers leaders gave speeches. As a pleasant surprise, a former Rogers patient spoke as well, detailing how two years ago our treatment saved his life and adding that he was grateful to have Rogers in the Wausau community so more people can access life-changing care close to home. That former patient helped cut the ribbon.
“The Wausau community’s commitment to expanding mental health programming is truly inspiring,” says Janet Gaitlin, Community Relations director of outreach. “We are thrilled to see their excitement about partnering with Rogers. The incredible turnout at the event reflects their dedication and enthusiasm.”
The Wausau clinic opened in November. It offers Primary Behavioral Health for adolescents and adults and Mental Health and Addiction Recovery for adults, with plans to soon offer Outpatient Psychiatric Services and Outpatient Counseling Services.
