Rogers donates additional $1 million to Foundation, Angel Fund expanded for COVID-19 crisis

FdnDonation.jpgIn addition to a $2 million that was donated at the start of the fiscal year, the Rogers Board of Directors has approved an additional $1 million donation from the Rogers system to go to the Foundation. This contribution is used to support patient care grants, which help patients who have limited financial resources continue treatment.

With Rogers’ continued growth, our patients’ need for financial assistance has also grown. The additional donation will provide around 2,000 days of care to patients in need.

As a not-for-profit, our charitable nature is measured by the total community benefit we provide, which includes things like spiritual care, stigma reduction, research, outcome studies, angel fund, community education, and support services. For fiscal year 2019 the value of our community benefit exceeded 12% of our revenue, which was a record for charitable giving and community impact for Rogers.

In an email announcement of the contribution, Pat Hammer, president and CEO, Rogers Behavioral Health, said that, “we can all take great pride in our commitment to charitable giving and helping as many people as possible gain access to life-changing mental health and addiction treatment.”

Expanded Angel Fund for COVID-19 crisis

The Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation has expanded the Angel Fund to assist patients, families, programs, departments, and clinics during the pandemic. The fund will help mitigate financial effects of the crisis through support in the form of goods, services, gift cards, or checks.

For Patients and Families

  • Any member of the treatment team may submit the COVID-19 Emergency Fund request form to their manager for requests to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 and to facilitate access to care.
  • The manager will accept the form and determine if the request is approved or denied.
  • If approved, the applicant or manager will scan form and email it to Tiffany.Riese@Rogersbh.org, and Matthias.Schueth@Rogersbh.org.
  • The Foundation will determine if funds are available and how much is being granted.

For programs, departments, or clinics

  • Applications made for entire programs, departments, or clinics need to be submitted as an informal written request and should include a brief rationale and specify whether the costs are internal and/or external.
  • The request needs to be signed by the manager or director of respective program.
  • The informal request must have the requestor’s location, program, point of contact, and email, and phone number.
  • Please email requests to Tiffany.Riese@RogersBH.org, and Matthias.Schueth@Rogersbh.org.
