Rogers departments work together to tie blankets, donate to Foundation
01/23/20 11:39:amThe Patient Financial Services and Physician Credentialing departments held an annual get-together where they had fun creating tie blankets to donate to a local cause.
The two departments have been donating tie blankets for three years now. This year, they decided on Street Angels of Milwaukee as their recipient due to how early cold weather crept in this winter.
In the past, they have also donated blankets to Children’s Wisconsin and for our own Eating Disorder Recovery residential care for adolescents. Those who couldn’t make the blanket tying event this year donated socks and toiletries.
Foundation receives generous gift from Patient Financial Services and Health Information teams
The Patient Financial Services and Health Information departments pooled charitable contributions together and gave $1,245 to the Foundation. Between this and last year’s donation, the two teams have given almost $2,500 to the Foundation.
Jacqueline Freeman, manager of Patient Financial Services, says that their departments were inspired to make a group donation by Matthias Schueth, executive vice president, Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation, who talked about the impact gifts have for children in our care.
“Hearing all the stories of children receiving gifts during the holidays because of donations was incredibly moving,” Jacqueline says. “If that doesn’t motivate you, nothing will.”
The two departments were recently inspired by charitable work done by other Rogers teams, and Patient Financial Services and Health Information plan to hold monthly outings in their community.
