Rogers Behavioral Health case specialist, Bethany Lerch, has been named Outstanding Young Alumni for 2020 by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
“It was an honor to have been chosen and I am humbled to stand alongside the four others who were also chosen,” Bethany says.
Bethany also recently published an opinion piece in the Oshkosh Northwestern. Her article, titled “Graduates deserve recognition in challenging times,” discusses anxiety and how helping others can help us through the pandemic.
Bethany graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in German and International Studies in 2009. She first started writing for the Oshkosh Northwestern while studying for her first master’s degree at the University of Saint Andrews in the United Kingdom. She has also had her work published in The Diplomat and The Wall Street Journal. Earlier this month, she graduated from UW Oshkosh’s Department of Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
An Almuni Awards Celebration is currently scheduled for October 23, coinciding with UW Oshkosh’s Homecoming week, which Bethany says she hopes to attend.
Appleton’s executive director of operations, Signa Meyers, was proud of Bethany, saying that “Bethany is well-spoken and well written, but most of all she is driven to help people become the best they are always meant to be. She has shown that her passion for mental health and addiction and her compassion for patients truly is the perfect blend of what an ideal employee must have at Rogers. She encompasses our vision and mission by her actions and words. I’m so very proud to call her an Appleton team member.”
