‘I will forever be grateful to him’: Oconomowoc mental health technician honored with TULIP Award
12/05/24 01:00:pmIn November, Rogers celebrated our most recent winner of the TULIP Award, which recognizes individuals who make a distinct difference for our patients and their loved ones. TULIP stands for Thoughtful, Unforgettable, Lasting Impact on a Patient. While the DAISY Award honors nurses, the TULIP Award gives us the chance to celebrate the many other compassionate and skilled clinical roles at the heart of our treatment.
This fall’s presentation recognized winner Robert Ziobro, a mental health technician for Depression Recovery, adult residential care in Oconomowoc. Robert was nominated by a former patient who said they will be forever grateful to him, and he also received a nomination from colleagues.
“Robert is the staff member that made the most difference in my life,” the patient wrote in their nomination. “Robert never made me feel ashamed. He celebrated my little wins and supported me through my losses, and I will forever be grateful to him.”
"Robert has always been one of our most thorough and patient mental health technicians,” his colleagues wrote. “He is curious about his job and seeks out continuous external learning opportunities, while maintaining collaboration with our treatment team. We are grateful to have such a compassionate and solution-focused person on our team!”
Jessica Fredricks, a mental health technician for Mental Health Recovery, adolescent inpatient care in Brown Deer, received an honorable mention after being nominated by a colleague who spoke about the meaningful impact she has had on the patients.
“Patients specifically request Jessica by name because they know she is there to lend a supportive ear,” her teammate shared. “Jessica is a true blessing to our patients and to our unit, and we are so proud to call her one of our own.”
