Rogers art therapist takes home award in iaedp art competition

Rogers art therapist Lacie Timm’s entry into the 2020 iaedp Imagine Me Beyond What You See body image art competition was this year’s Professional’s Choice award winner.

Lacie has entered the competition for several years now, often winning first place or the Professional’s Choice award. Her latest entry “Home Sweet Home” depicted a collection of houses from different cultures around the world. This year’s award was a special one for Lacie, since the competition moved away from mannequins, allowing other formats.

“The Professional’s Choice Award is especially dear to me as it truly fills my cup when other providers see the hard work our resident’s put into their experiential treatment,” Lacie says. “Art therapy is a realm filled with so many possibilities, and this year’s competition welcomed even more opportunities. This was our first year not building a human figure which was challenging and exciting to push the art piece into creating something fresh and original. I’m so proud of all our folks who put time into the piece.”
