Continuous improvement is an important part of Rogers’ culture, which often means having to reflect on how current practices can be changed for the better. To ensure the best possible onboarding experience for new nurses at rogers, nursing leadership began inviting them to area events to help ensure a smooth transition process to the team.

“Our hope is to offer each new employee an exciting evening or afternoon, get to know each other personally, and listen to their individual onboarding experiences with the hopes we can offer any needed assistance or resources,” says Rogers chief nursing officer, Angie Crawford.

New nurses have gotten to go to basketball games and concerts at the Fiserv Forum with seats in Rogers’ suite. Future events include comedy acts playing at the arena as well.

Rogers employees who attended an event with nursing leadership appreciate the opportunity.

“I thought it was very fun and a great way to spend the night meeting other Rogers employees.” ~Olivia Engel, RN

“Outside events, like the Chris Young concert, are great ways for nurses to meet the nursing leadership and have conversations that you may never have the opportunity to have. This assists in creating an open communication and community between front line staff and leadership.” ~Mandy Isaacson, RN, manager of infection control and wellness

“It was a great time! I had not yet attended an event yet at the Fiserv Forum, so to have my first one be in one of the suites was exciting! It was a perfect environment to get up between each act and converse.” ~Karie Liegel, employee health and safety specialist
