New workshops offered to enhance career development and planning

04/22/19 08:10:am

Career development is one of the most often mentioned contributors to employee engagement and retention. Rogers recognizes this and is committed to providing meaningful career development and planning opportunities, training, and resources to all staff.

Beginning in May and June, Rogers University will offer two new workshops to enhance opportunities within our organization. One workshop is manager-focused and the other is employee-focused. Both workshops will offer helpful information, tips and resources for preparing for and conducting a career development and planning conversation.

  • Effective Career Conversations is a manager-focused workshop that will prepare participants for effective career conversations within their team. The training uses an easy to follow, four step process that will increase effectiveness in career conversations. Other topics include how to have a career conversation regardless of levels of performance as well as how to help a new team member take their initial steps in career development. This class is now available to register for in the Learning Management System (LMS/NetLearning).
  • Getting Started on My Career Development is offered to all staff and will explore the basics of successful career development including how to receive and respond to feedback; how to bounce back from career setbacks; setting Career-focused SMART goals; and how to prepare your resume and interviewing skills. This class will be available in the Learning Management System (LMS/NetLearning) early May 2019 with classes in June 2019.

Look for Rogers University class announcements for updates and details. For questions, contact Talent Development via email at talentdevelopment@rogersbh.org or call us at extension 3060.
