"I've spent years sharing patients' stories of success and highlighting some of the most passionate and brilliant doctors working in behavioral health through our Rogers' video series,” says Andy Meddaugh, lead digital media producer, Marketing and Communications, and host of Rise Above. “Now with this podcast, I'm proud to be able to add my own voice in an effort to break down stigma and help people dealing with their own personal struggles."

Rise Above: Tis the Season for Holiday Stress!
Just in time for the holidays, Andy spoke with our Dr. Heather Jones, vice president of clinical services, about how to manage the stress. From balancing busy schedules to navigating family dynamics, the episode shares tips for staying grounded, finding moments of peace among the chaos, and making the most of the holidays.
“The holidays can elicit some complex emotions, where there are a lot of expectations,” Dr. Jones tells Andy in the podcast episode. “There are really basic things we can do day-of and leading up to. That’s practicing relaxation strategies, taking some deep breathes, making sure we’re exercising, and setting realistic expectations for ourselves. There’s a lot of professionalism woven through holiday time, and being able to think through what that event can look like, or we sometimes call it pre-coping, can be a really great way to problem-solve before the event.”

Rise Above: Is Your Child Struggling With OCD? Recognizing the Red Flags
Raising a child is tough as it is, and OCD can add another layer of challenges for parents wanting the best for their kids. In this Rise Above episode, Andy speaks with Dr. Martin Franklin, clinical director of OCD and Anxiety Services, about the signs indicating a child may be experiencing OCD and the best way to support them, along with the mistakes even the most well-meaning parents may make when attempting to help their children with OCD.
“It can be a pernicious and functionally impairing condition,” says Dr. Franklin during his conversation with Andy. “But when you get the right help and you trust that help and you work the program together, your outcomes are likely to be quite positive.”
