Meet the Denver team as clinic opening approaches
09/09/22 01:45:pmRogers’ newest clinic, located at 10333 E. Dry Creek Road, Suite 350 in Englewood, Colorado, is set to open next month. Treatment will include:
- Focus Depression Recovery partial hospitalization care (PHP) for adults and adolescents
- OCD and Anxiety PHP for adults, adolescents, and children
With admissions expected to begin in mid-October and a grand opening event planned for November 3, excitement is building in the community and among Rogers employees. Below, meet three members of the Denver clinic’s leadership team.
Lani Healey, MSW, LCSW, director of operations
As director of operations, Lani brings a wealth of experience at Rogers to her new role. Lani began her time at Rogers as a mental health professional at the Kenosha clinic eight years ago and held numerous positions in patient care before joining leadership as manager of operations, also for the Kenosha clinic. After completing the Leader in Training program, Lani provided administrative support and training to other directors in the System while relocating to Denver to launch Rogers’ newest location.
“I’m really looking forward to bringing our services to a new state where there is so much need for OCD and PHP care,” says Lani. "When the Denver clinic opens, we’ll be the only Rogers location in the Mountain Time Zone, which will bridge our national coverage of care. Our Denver team has joined us from all over North America including Colorado, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Washington, North Carolina, and Canada.”
Julia Carbonella, PhD, clinical director
Dr. Carbonella joins Rogers as clinical director for Denver following more than a decade of experience specializing in evidence-based care and clinical research in OCD and anxiety. With a professional background that includes work in VA hospitals, outpatient clinics, and inpatient rehabilitation facilities, Dr. Carbonella says the new Denver team is uniquely prepared to provide the specialized services the local community needs.
“Our staff are passionate, EDI-minded, and bring a wealth of knowledge from a variety of backgrounds,” explains Dr. Carbonella. “As a collective team, they are so enthusiastic about joining the One Rogers mission. We can’t wait to open our doors as Rogers’ 21st city with an outpatient clinic and the first in sunny Colorado!”
Sonia Izmirian, PhD, clinical supervisor
Dr. Izmirian joins Rogers following experience in private practice, the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic through the University of Colorado, and Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Dr. Izmirian received specialized training in exposure and response prevention (ERP) during her postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital and is looking forward to using that expertise in the clinic.
“The Denver area currently lacks targeted IOP (intensive outpatient) and PHP services, so I’m excited to address this need,” says Dr. Izmirian. “We’ve put together a really great team of eager clinicians and everyone is looking forward to helping our community.”
Ghea Mae Degillo, advanced practice nurse practitioner
Prior to joining Denver, Ghea worked at Rogers in Skokie and Hinsdale, helping patients in the Depression Recovery, OCD and Anxiety, and Trauma programs. In Denver, she will treat children, adolescents, and adults in the Depression Recovery and OCD and Anxiety programs.
See below for additional program updates throughout the Rogers system.
Appleton
The Appleton clinic opened a virtual Trauma Recovery IOP for adults this month. The IOP is available to patients who have completed previous Trauma programming at Rogers and are receiving care within the state of Wisconsin.
Philadelphia
Philadelphia will open a Mental Health and Addiction Recovery PHP for adults, tentatively beginning later this year, pending licensing.
