Since its founding in 2009, OCD Awareness Week takes place during the second week of each October and serves as an important opportunity to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and spread hope in our communities.

In recognition of the week, please take some time to read through the patient quotes featured above. Remember that no matter the challenges, your hard work and dedication to patient care have helped others rise above OCD.

Rogers clinics celebrate OCD Awareness Week

Each year, Rogers locations throughout the country go above and beyond to highlight this important cause. Below, check out the ways a few teams celebrated OCD Awareness Week.

Appleton

The Appleton team raised awareness by facing their fears. Employees shared photos of themselves confronting a fear in solidarity with the difficult work patients do every day in treatment.

Hinsdale, Skokie, and Nashville

Members of the Central Service Division teams took part in a Facebook Live on October 13. The virtual event included a screening of the OCD documentary UNSTUCK, followed by a panel discussion of questions submitted by viewers. To learn more, click here.

Kenosha

On October 28, a group of therapists from Kenosha’s OCD and Anxiety programs will lead “CBT, ERP, and School Implications,” a presentation and panel discussion for local providers and school professionals.

Los Angeles and Twin Cities

Members of the L.A. and Twin Cities teams took part in their local 1 Million Steps 4 OCD walks on October 3 and September 18, respectively. Pictured below are Amy Prout, outreach representative, and Chris Travis, therapist, from Los Angeles; Julia Williams, behavioral specialist from St. Paul, with her partner; and David Rotter, operations manager for the Minneapolis clinic, and his family.

Madison

The Madison team participated in “PJ Day,” as seen below, in addition to “Crazy Hair Day” and “Inside Out Day.”

Oconomowoc

OCD and Anxiety Adolescent and Children’s Residential Care celebrated with dress-up days for staff and patients, as well as special events and outings. Activities included the creation of a motivation/values board, apple picking and baking, a talent show, and drawing pictures of themselves defeating OCD.

Silver Lake and Silver Lake North also marked the week with dress-up days, including “Mix it up Monday” and “Teal Tuesday,” an OCD trivia game, and “Face Your Fears Friday,” where staff submitted photos of themselves challenging one of their fears.

Tampa

The Tampa clinic invited employees and patients to take part in a week filled with activities. The complete schedule included "Mismatched Hair Style and/or Makeup Day," patients assigning an exposure to their behavior specialist, viewing the OCD documentary UNSTUCK, "Mismatched Clothes Day," and face painting and drawing how they feel about OCD.
