Sign up now for the Milwaukee Out of the Darkness Walk
09/19/18 06:17:pmRogers is looking for team members to join the upcoming Milwaukee Out of the Darkness Walk.
The Walk is being held on October 14 in Humboldt Park. Check in and registration begins at 9 am, with the opening ceremony starting at 11 am, followed by the walk. Those with questions about joining the team can contact Team Captain Tama’ra Reed.
Last year, Rogers child and adolescent therapist Angela Kupper was a guest speaker during the walk’s opening ceremony, representing her non-profit Finding your Fairytale. Her speech can be watched in full below.
The team’s goal is to raise $1,000, as part of the event’s goal of $125,000. Last year’s walk was attended by more than 1,500 people and surpassed its funding goal with more than $105,000 raised. Rogers recently took part in the NAMI Walk in Waukesha, where we surpassed our team goal of $1,000 with $1,800 raised by our team of 30 registered walkers, as well as their children and dogs. Images from this walk have been collected in the slideshow above. Photos from all of this year’s mental health awareness walks are collected in a slideshow on Rogers Connect.
Online registration closes at noon the Friday before the event. Details about the walk can be found by visiting the event page.
