Seth Ingram shares excitement about his new role and Rogers’ future

Seth Ingram.jpgSeth Ingram, vice president of operations for Rogers’ Western Service Area, had a memorable start with the organization in March 2020.

“One week after joining as director of operations in San Francisco, we were on COVID lockdown,” Seth says. “We had a good census with a healthy waitlist, but once the shelter in place order was given, our census suddenly dropped to a low of nine patients. When the System rolled out Rogers Connect Care, we built the census back within a month, and within three months, we were near record levels. This successful turnaround could not have occurred without Rogers’ agility to quickly adapt to virtual care, the collaboration that occurred between myself and my senior clinical director, Jennifer Park, PhD, and the resilience of our employees.”

Seth says he’s always been interested in behavioral health, which is why he was drawn to Rogers.

“I’m fascinated by the human mind and learning how and why people think and behave the way they do” he says. “I remember during my first week, I was walking down a hall and saw a young man sitting next to the bathroom with a pained expression on his face. I asked a therapist about him, and he explained the patient was working on exposures. I thought, this is where I am meant to be. One of my favorite parts of my job is when employees ask me to be part of exposure work.”

Before joining Rogers, Seth worked for 16 years at Sutter Health as a director in both inpatient hospitals and outpatient multi-specialty clinics. He also worked as an administrator of social rehab and adult residential facilities that served patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

“People don’t realize how much demand is out there for mental health services,” Seth says. “Many are still unaware of the specialized treatment we offer. Last week, a mother stopped me in the lobby to tell me that our treatment changed her daughter’s life. Before Rogers, her daughter had been hospitalized every month for the last two years. This is the life-changing work that our people are doing every day.”

While temporarily maintaining the role of director of operations for San Francisco, Seth is focused on ensuring the clinic continues its strong growth and service to the community, while also assessing the needs of the other clinics in the Western Service Area including San Diego, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

“In my new role as vice president of operations for the Western Service Area, I’ve been given an opportunity to work with an amazing group of directors and leaders who share the vision of becoming even more connected as One Rogers,” he says. “With the help of our leadership team, my hope is to see increased alignment with the strategic goals of Rogers through improved access to services, increased engagement with our employees, and a focus on high quality service and evidence-based treatment. This will be guided by a culture of safety, transparency, excellence, and connection.”

Seth says he enjoys being part of the Rogers team and what we do on a daily basis.

“I have the privilege of working with amazing employees and clinicians who bring a breadth of experience and knowledge that inspires and motivates me every day,” he says. “I see my responsibility as a servant leader to create a safe and enjoyable place for them to do their best work.”

Seth is also excited about Rogers’ future.

“We have an excellent strategy, mission, and culture,” he says. “We have come so far on this journey, and with a renewed emphasis on our strategic priorities and focus on our caregivers, we have the opportunity to unleash the full potential of this organization. It’s an exciting time to be part of Rogers.”

“I had no prior experience with motorcycles and no idea what I was jumping into,” he says. “But I was excited for the process to learn something new.”

After two years, and a lot of blood, sweat, and some tears, Seth is proud to have a one-of-a kind.

Seth and his wife have been doing CrossFit for longer than they’ve been married, calling it their self-care, therapy, and date nights, all in one. Seth encourages people to practice a healthy lifestyle of staying physically active by finding something you love to do and making it a habit.

Seth recently returned from Amsterdam and is hoping to add Asia next to his list.
