Through advocacy, food collections, and a blood drive, Rogers teammates supported Mobilize Recovery’s Day of Service as part of National Recovery Month.

Drs. Boyer and Scaletta in DC

Matthew Boyer, MD, addiction psychiatrist, and Lauren Scaletta, PsyD, psychologist and clinical supervisor of the Herrington Centers for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Adult Residential Care at Rogers’ Oconomowoc and West Allis campuses, attended the Mobilize Recovery national meeting in Washington, DC.

“It was inspiring to join other leaders in the field of addiction recovery and hear from policy experts, elected officials, and industry executives invited to speak,” says Dr. Boyer. “The themes of harm reduction, access to care, and advocacy recurred throughout the plenaries. The breakout sessions offered a chance to drill deep into varied topics – everything from overdose prevention centers to the distribution of opioid settlement funds. I was proud to represent Rogers and see our logo on the board of sponsors next to Google, Meta, iHeartMedia, and Gilead.”

“I was grateful for the opportunity to represent Rogers,” says Dr. Scaletta. “Not only did we hear inspiring and brave storytellers in recovery, but we also heard the important areas of need for the recovery community. This will allow us to continue to improve our addiction services and keep up with the latest research and trends in the field.”

Kenosha

Teammates in Kenosha collected over 700 pounds of goods for the Shalom Center, which provides emergency food, shelter, and support to individuals in need.

“They were so appreciative of everything,” says Charity Lopez, therapist. “They told me that the donations we collected will help local residents who desperately need it right now. They also said we should be very proud to be a part of such a giving group pf people.”

Madison

Food collected in Madison was donated to OutReach LGBTQ Community Center, which provides a variety of programs and services to support the Madison-area LGBTQ community.

Skokie

Skokie’s teammates donated more than 75 items to the Niles Township food pantry.

Oconomowoc blood drive

The Oconomowoc campus held a blood drive that was open to the public on Saturday, September 30. A total of 19 units of blood was collected which will help nearly fifty people.

Twin Cities Sober Tailgate

Brendon Schmitzer, Minneapolis’ community relations team member, participated in Mobilize Recovery’s Sober Tailgate Party September 30, with a special focus on veteran and active military families.
